Is One Simple Move™ a moving company?
One Simple Move™ is not a household good transporter. We provide Over-the-Phone Move Consultants and, in certain areas of the U.S., we refer certified and insured Affiliated Move Managers who can manage every aspect of your move on-site. Our services include helping you prepare, customize, coordinate, negotiate pricing and manage all aspects of your move so you can save money and time and reduce anxiety.
Will One Simple Move™ help me find movers?
Yes. And we refer you only to movers in your area who are reputable, licensed and qualified.
Are the movers' quotes you obtain binding?
Not initially. You cannot receive a binding move quote until more detailed information is gathered by your movers about your specific needs. Through our web-based Move Management Application you complete a comprehensive set of questions to assess your moving needs. This information allows you to obtain and compare movers’ cost estimates in your area whether they are based on an hourly rate (for local movers) or a “weight x distance” (for long distance moves) directly on our website. It’s fast and anonymous. The more information you provide, the more accurate the quotes! We recommend that once you have selected your movers that you obtain a binding or “not-to-exceed” quote before signing a mover’s agreement.
How can One Simple Move™ save me money?
The professionals at One Simple Move™ understand the economics of moving and leverage their experience to guide you how to negotiate with vendors, get the most for your money and reduce your overall moving costs by hundreds – and in some cases even thousands - of dollars. We can even pass along additional discounts and rebates offered by vendors in our Preferred Vendor Network.
Is my personal information shared with movers and other services providers?
No. All information that you provide is carefully protected and remains private until you decide to meet with the movers, storage facilities or other providers who you want to hire for your move. Through our Move Management application, or by contacting a Move Consultant, you can obtain quotes and gather cost information anonymously – meaning, none of your personal information is shared until you are ready to go forward. If you need further on-site assistance, we can refer you to a local Move Manager to coordinate with vendors and service providers on your behalf.
Are the movers you refer licensed and qualified?
Yes. All the movers, storage facilities and other service providers are screened and checked by One Simple Move™ before they become members of our Network. We believe a key value of our service is that we insist that your valuables, loved ones and needs are protected and managed only by high-quality, experienced and licensed professionals.
I need to help a loved one with their move. Can you help?
Yes. Adult children are often needed to help move their parents as they age and are physically unable to manage their own relocation. We can help you coordinate that process even if you don’t live in the same city as your loved one. We can also help them downsize, sell their existing home or even find a new home. Finally, we can offer a Move Manager who can help on-site if needed.
Can you help me or a loved one find a new home?
Yes. One Simple Move™ works closely with multiple communities, housing developers, independent/assisted living and senior care facilities across the US. Once we know what kind of home you seek, we can assist you with locating, contacting and obtaining pricing and availability information for multiple communities.
Do you provide On-Site Move Management services?
Yes, depending on your area. Check your online account (or simply call us) to find out if we can put you in touch with a Move Manager who offers on-site relocation management services in your town.
Do Move Managers only offer their services to seniors?
No. However, services offered by Move Managers are typically designed to help seniors with special needs, such as locating an appropriate and available assisted living or retirement community, or helping with downsizing. However, the Move Management industry is becoming more comprehensive and now reaches all demographics, including young families and busy professionals who simply prefer to hire someone to plan and oversee all aspects of their move.
Why would I hire a Move Manager to assist me on-site?
Move Managers can manage multiple aspects of your move that may either be too challenging for you (or your loved one) or simply too time-consuming. Moving is challenging, stressful and a major time drain. An On-Site Move Manager can assume all the anxiety and hassles associated with your transition. Think of a Move Management professional as a “Wedding Coordinator”… for moves!
What are your fees?
One Simple Move™ is a 100% free service to online users of our application who wish to coordinate and manage their own move. There is a flat fee of $150 to hire a Move Consultant who will be available to you by phone throughout your move. You may also, at your option and at any time during your move, hire a One Simple Move™ Affiliated Move Manager who can administer all aspects of your move on-site; fees for on-site assistance vary and are dependent on your needs and other factors. Do I need to provide a credit card to open an account?
No. You may open a secure web account and begin customizing your move at OneSimpleMove.com for free and with no obligation. If you are interested in hiring an Over-the-Phone Move Consultant, simply let us know and we can discuss your options.
After I start my own free online account, how do I hire a Move Consultant?
At any time you may call us at 800-768-0607 to hire a Move Consultant. Call us for a free initial consultation to understand your options before making a decision.
When will my Move Consultant be available to me?
One Simple Move™ is open Monday-Friday from 9a to 5p PST (12p to 8p EST). Once your account is established you may contact your Move Consultant by phone or by email directly at any time.
Do you provide services across the US?
Yes. One Simple Move™ services are available everywhere. Call us for a free consultation to find out how we can help you.
I need to move cross country. Can you help?
Yes. About 25% of moves in the US are over 75 miles, so many of our customers request cross-country guidance. We can assist you with your needs anywhere in the US.
I'm moving from the US to another country. Can you help?
Yes. A Move Consultant would need to understand your needs before addressing any limitations there may be in servicing an international move. Call us to discuss your options.
Do I have any obligations after opening a free account at OneSimpleMove.com?
No. All One Simple Move™ services to customers using our webMOVE web application are free. And, at any time, you may cancel your account with zero cancellation fees and no questions asked.
How can One Simple Move™ offer these services to me for free?
There is no catch. One Simple Move™ generates customer lead and advertising fees from movers, move-related service providers and other businesses who wish to be part of the One Simple Move™ Preferred Vendor Network and have listings posted at OneSimpleMove.com for customer search. None of those fees are passed along to our customers; in fact, our vendors even offer our customers discounts and rebates, making One Simple Move™ a cost-savings program!
